Common questions
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free and there's no obligation. Nino comes out, looks at the actual condition, and tells you what he'd do and what it costs.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Valore Masonry Inc. is licensed and insured. Ask for the certificate at the estimate and you'll get it. Never let anyone do work on your home who gets awkward about that question.
I got a NYC DOT sidewalk violation. Can you handle it?
Yes. Bring the violation notice to the estimate — it specifies exactly which sidewalk flags have to be cut out and replaced, and to what spec. It doesn't expire on its own, and if you leave it long enough the City does the work and bills you for it.
How much does a stoop or repointing job cost?
It depends entirely on size, access and how much of what's there is still sound — anyone who quotes you a number over the phone without seeing it is guessing. That's what the free estimate is for.
Do you take small jobs?
Yes. A cracked step, a few feet of pointing, one bad sidewalk flag. Small jobs are how most long relationships start.
How soon can you start?
Depends on the season and what's already booked — masonry is weather-dependent work. Call and Nino will tell you honestly where you'd fall in the schedule rather than promising you next week.
Who actually does the work?
Nino and his own crew. You are not being sold to by one person and then handed off to a subcontractor you've never met.
